Clothes history: The title attributed by Hildegard Angel for the Itaú Cultural Institute exhibition for this piece was “Working Young Ladies”, since it wasn’t give by Zuzu Angel. According to Hildegard Angel, ladies between 45 and 50 years old were given this name in the US. The piece was donated to the Zuzu Angel Institute’s archive by an unknown source.

Clothes description: Long dress with long sleeves, plaids and a patterned print of flowers in: white, green and blue. The piece has three parts: the bust with a cutout at the waist and another on the hip, from where the skirt’s plaids start. The collar has rounded edges and the closing of the piece is located on the front, through a bracket with a missing piece and a 0, 41 cm green and beige zipper. The lining is made in white polyester, being shorter than the dress, and the dress is held at the seam and the zipper. There are peaks on both the front and back, starting at the waist and beginning at the shoulders at the back. The dress has a loose belt at the waist, made with the same pattern, with a silver metal latch. There is a small loop on the sides, made of white thread. The sleeves have a closing made of two small gold buttons, with “Zuzu Angel” written on them, and a simple button hole. The hemline’s hem and belt’s metal latch are hand sewn.

On Zuzu Angel's centenary, the legendary designer from Minas Gerais gains virtual exposure!

To commemorate the centenary of stylist Zuzu Angel (she was born on 06/05/1921 and was murdered in 1976), Itaú Cultural transformed the exhibition “Ocupação Zuzu“, which took place physically in 2014, into a large virtual tour with the right to new content , as an entry in the Itaú Cultural Encyclopedia.
