Renda-se pays tribute to Zuzu Angel in its 2025 edition

Monday, September 22, 2025

On September 18th and 19th, Alagoas fashion was celebrated in grand style with the Renda-se Project Edition.
The event celebrated the power of creative fashion, handmade crafts, and heritage, revealing the beauty and cultural resilience that mark the identity of Alagoas. Filet lace—an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the State—was highlighted alongside embroidery, colors, and other techniques that reflect the Alagoas aesthetic.

Two days of fashion shows and clothing exhibitions were held in an inclusive and innovative movement that connected professional designers, students, embroiderers, lacemakers, local artists, celebrities, journalists, and fashion enthusiasts.

In this edition, Renda-se paid special tribute to Zuzu Angel, a pioneer in transforming fashion into a tool of identity and political resistance. Her legacy continues to inspire new generations of creators. To celebrate his career, fashion designers and students created exclusive looks inspired by his work, highlighting his contribution to Brazilian fashion and his fight for freedom and expression.

The highlight of the evening was the award ceremony for the winners: @jonhson_alves41, named Professional Designer of the Year with the Delírios collection, and @laystrindadev, winner of the Student category with the Jangada collection.

The stage for this celebration of creative fashion was the Maceió Commercial Association, an architectural icon in the historic Jaraguá neighborhood, which hosted a fantastic production team. Fabio Costa, representing the sponsor Magazine Luiza, led the event alongside Alina Amaral (Executive Director), Fernando Perdigão (Creative Director), Rodrigo Ambrósio (Creative Director), and names such as Perigou, Silvana Valença, Rodrigo Vieira, Manu Cardoso, Rafael Santana, and others.

With the support of the State Department of Tourism, it was possible for the representative of the Zuzu Angel Simone Costa Institute to attend the event, who was in Maceió on behalf of its president, Hildegard Angel.
