To commemorate Zuzu Angel's centenary, the Curvelo City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Culture, Sport, Leisure and Tourism, will organize, between June 5 and 30, the open-air exhibition “100 years of sewing with Zuzu”. The event with an area of ??332 m² will be set up at Praça Central do Brasil and will be open to the public, respecting all the rules of social distance and care against the new coronavirus. The exhibition, a tribute from the people of Curves, allows, even in a scenario of uncertainty caused by the pandemic, to publicize the stylist's work – internationally recognized for her pioneering work in Brazilian fashion. With large and colorful images, mostly from the Zuzu Angel Institute (RJ), the exhibition brings together the artist's work and facts. Photographs, exclusive prints used in clothes designed by her, sketches, images of fashion shows made in New York and Rio de Janeiro, models from the Institute's collection, photos and letters will be printed on large canvases, more than 6 meters high. the search for her son killed by the dictatorship and other facts of the stylist's life. Zuzu Angel Zuzu Angel, born in Curvelo (06/05/1921), was a Brazilian stylist, with a prominent role during the military period. It used references from Brazilian identity both to publicize the demands of women in the 60s and 70s and to denounce the events in Brazil.
