The Arp lace factory was inaugurated in June 1911 and promoted the economic and social development of the city, it grew and became a national reference in the sector and a leader in the Americas in the embroidery market. The factory was also recognized for its quality, state-of-the-art machinery, investments in cutting-edge technology and the diversity of its products. Recognition that made great Brazilian stylists visit it and use its raw material, such as Guilherme Guimarães, José Ronaldo, Dener Pamplona de Abreu, Clodovil Hernandez, José Nunes, Jerson Karl and our Zuzu Angel. To formalize the delivery of the collection to the Institute were present: Pedro Arp, manager of Espaço Arp and 5th generation of the Arp family, Letícia Pimentel, executive of Culture and Sustainability of Espaço Arp, journalist David Massena, author of the children's book "Zuzu", who facilitated the donation. They were received by Hildegard Angel, President of IZA who made the following statement: “Casa Zuzu Angel/Museu da Moda now houses and preserves 100 years of embroidery history in Brazil, through a precious donation received from the bound catalogs of the traditional Arp industry in Friburgo. Leafing through Arp's catalogs is a trip back in time, a walk through fashion in the 20th century. We are very honored with the trust and responsibility of preserving this treasure of Brazilian Fashion History.”
